Was the photo in your original post the front right tyre? And have both tyres worn exactly the same? Got a photo of the other side?

Yes both fronts had worn exactly the same.

I've had two new tires fitted and had the alignment changed slightly to reduce negative camber:

The car still handles very well but once you're loaded up in a corner it's not quite as planted as before.
