U2312HM

Nothing official has really been announced about the monitor. If you follow through to the TFT Central article (and subsequent articles) in that thread you can see a few pictures of the U2412M - the U2312HM most likely looks very similar aesthetically. Although not official you can summise that the monitor will be similar to the U2311H with the main difference being the adoption of WLED backlighting. Hopefully uniformity and panel consistency will be a little better this time but who knows? Judging from Dell's release schedules August or September is a likely launch month for the monitors in the UK. They usually pull stock and discontinue models about 4-6 weeks in advance, to give you a further indication.

Although nothing is confirmed yet, from the rumours I've read they are going 1080p rather than 1200p on the 24" model which is a bit of a disapointment if true.

Read the updated information on TFT Central or PC Monitors. There is no such thing as the U2412HM. Just the U2412M with the LM240WU8-SLA2 1920 x 1200 e-IPS panel. The upcoming Samsung S24A850DW will be a 1920 x 1200 part too - the resolution still has its place for this type of monitor and the manufacturers are aware of this.

Ah must have been an earlier rumour I read, either way thats good news.

I prefer 1200p as it happens! ;)

I'm sure many people do and I don't think the resolution is going anywhere for this 'class' of 24" monitor. If people want the lower resolution that's what the smaller and cheaper 23" varients are for. :)

While the U2412M will be 16:10 and 1920 x 1200 definitely, the 23" U2312HM will be 16:9 and 1920 x 1080. The release of that model is expected late August i am told, whereas the U2412M is expected imminently, around 4th August :)

Interesting, although not unexpected what with the U2311 specs. Thanks for the info baddass!
