UAE Tycoon to Take Over Portsmouth FC?

Wow...I didnt even know that was allowed. Seems like potential conflict of interests to me. So if a group of 5 people bought Spurs, then 1 of those 5 could go and buy Wigan individually and another 1 of the 5 could buy Fulham? I truly didnt know that, kind of surprised but hey ho, its another foreign investor in the premier league so someone somewhere is probably happy about it.

no, what I said is, for instance, 2 of those 5 guys might pool together to build a 2billion dollar hotel in Dubai, but 2 guys individually went out to buy a football club, not the group bought one and an individual the other.

It's a bit of an odd one for me as I'm sure that the finance for both these deals comes from the Dubai Government as the primary investors in the abu dhabi investment group and the big money in this character property firm.

Still good new for pompey as without this investment they were staring into a financial black hole.

AS to that, not really, the group was involved in a roughly, 10billion deal for the first few years to buy AMD, its a huge deal. Honestly, 50mil for pompie, 100mil for city, and a few hundred mil for players/wages, thats not in need of government backing or group backing, thats chump change for these guys.

Its spend it on a club, or 1000 , semi-exclusive versions of top sports cars at 200k each.

But I thought that Man City wasnt owned by an individual guy, I thought it was owned by the ADUG. Of which this pompey guy was affiliated (at least at the time).

Doesnt matter though at the end of the day, the FA are clearly fine with it and say its all perfectly ok, so no problem. (was just personal surprise on my part rather than criticism)

Anyone else find it ironic that Portsmouth arch rivals announced today they cant pay the players or staffs wages for May.

I was just about to post that exact same thing. I never thought I would say this but:o I actually genuinly feel sorry for the Southampton fans, they've been shafted by the board in the club and now they see us getting this bit of luck to top it off (it's ok I'm going to beat myself with stinging nettles now for that show of weekness :p)

Thanks Mr Pompey, as a saints fan I can tell you that what we are going through right now is agony, it's the not knowing that really messes you up. We have no idea who to believe the papers are full of regurgitated rubish and the message boards flooded with doom and gloom speculation. I only hope that we have a club to start the season with.

Don't begrudge your lot the money, things were looking a bit bleak for you until this new man stepped in, I even dislike you lot a little less now redcrap has dumped on you as well.
