The last time I used Uber Eats we ordered two pizza from round the corner. We were looking out for the delivery guy, because we were unsure if he/she might just leave it on our doorstep and scarper (is what UE's said they might do due to COVID). So I see this homeless-looking guy roll up on a ****y bike, no uniform/hard case on the back and he's staring at my front doorstep. He looked so dodgy - my first thought was that the pizzas had been left on the doorstep and he's about to nick them, so I run downstairs and fly out the door. Turns out this old, grey-beared, unwashed, homeless-looking guy is our delivery driver. Some how he'd jammed two pizzaboxes into a tiny generic soft cool-bag on the back of his bike.. we opened them up and they were both folded over inside, looking totally manky, sweaty and all the toppings coming off. Yuck.
Long story short, we got a full refund. I'll stick to Deliveroo (never had any problems) or even better just walk round the corner to our local pizza place and collect it ourselves. The only reason we didn't go was that it's so popular it's a bit of a bumfight outside and COVID-blah
