Uber eats

So last night i got in from the pub and ordered a big mac meal from uber eats.About 20 minutes later i got a call from Uber to say its too late and my order can’t be delivered.

Fair enough,so i went on just eat and ordered a pizza. Five minutes later mcdonalds turns up. Being mildly drunk i did not refuse to take it. However, i then bad two meals. I contacted uber ears to get a refund and they are refusing..

Should i be refunded?

Uber are fobbing me off saying they have no record of a call being made to me. I have the record on my phone and have sent screenshot evidence to them. Im not too bothered about the moneu its more about the principals.

There mistake means i have paid elsewhere. Its not my fault that the delivery then turned up the call. Does anyone know if there is a regulator for deliverys?

If i refused it at the door it they would probably still charge me for it. If i didn’t receive the call to say its cancelled then this situation would not have happened.

Probably would have been charged either way tbh..

tbh if I received a pizza and big mac when i was drunk i'd prob attempt to make some horribble concoction with the two

I did try to cancel on the just eat app but it said too late. Meh, maybe i am being petty about this situation but im still annoyed that uber cocked up.

What? What does it matter that i accepted it? They phoned me to say the order was cancelled so i paid someone else to deliver me food. If i refuse it at the door surely they would have charged me.

Simply because their mistake means i have ordered elsewhere and have lost money as a result. How can you not understand my point?

I put the pizza in the fridge and had it for breakfast. Very nice it was also

Well this is weird. Me and my gf ordered two meals on uber eate from Mcdonalds. Driver turns up and hands us to big bags , we are like “we didnt order this much” he says call the restaurent bla bla bla. Theres 2 big mac meals, 2 quartar pounder meals, box of 20 nuggets a wrap and a happy meal.

Im starving so i ate the big mac which is what i ordered anyway. Now err.. what to do with the rest of the order?

I guess someone at mcdonalds is in big trouble soon!

I was also told i had one three years ago, although i did lose about a stone and my last blood test was clear. Still occasionally get that dull ache under the right rib though.

Mine was the non alcoholic type.

Ah yea all that intake of excess sugar will do that i guess. I had a bad diet from my uni days that got a bit better when i started work full time but when i got to around 26ish i started getting dull ache on my right side, after a gp visits and an expensive private ultrasound(gp dismissed me saying i was too young). They found i had a fatty liver. I lost about a stone since then and feel much better.

Still have the odd takeaway here and there though

Don’t go to crazy losing weight too quick as thats not good for the liver either.

I do this all the time If I'm full and still have slices left or if I've taken up a BOGOF deal at a local unclean place. Such a waste.

I have had cancelled mcd orders from uber eats before.

The first time it was mcdonalds that rang me themselves. (but they did also cancel on the app)
All the other times they cancelled it on the app.

Uber is centered around app/online for cost reasons, why would they use a call centre to cancel? think about it.

Don’t really want to back to the original topic as it was bumped for another reason. But i did get a call from them and i did get a refund due said phone call and mistake on their side.

Who would scam me like that?
