Ubisoft to delete inactive accounts (with zero games on them)

I'm sure that some people have legitimate grievances against them, I cant say that I do, I've had more than my fair share of fun out of such Ubisoft games as the Farcry series, the AC series, the Ghost Recon series, Division 1 and 2, the two excellent South Park games, Rainbow Six games etc, so I cant say that I bear them much ill but some others will have reasonable cause to dislike them... its just that in this instance that cause isnt that they are about to delete peoples games :D

Course "Ubisoft are stealing your games!!1!!1" makes for a video which gets more hits than "Ubisoft arent going to remove your games" lol

Does show though the power of social media and just how so many people will automatically believe what they see and read rather than investigate something themselves.

Ubisoft employee's have lied to me in the past and to other customers en-masse on their own public forums that they have now removed from history in a wipe clean effort. All their forums, not just posts, go check if you dont believe me.

I believe the original story but glad to see the power of social media has seen them see the errors of their ways.

Fair play you like them Dude, but I and many others have VERY legitimate reasons for hatred and distrust of this horrible company.

Sorry Tombstone, but I feel strongly about the many many years of bad service from this company.

The more I think about it, the more I think Ubisoft are their own worst enemy, they bought this upon themselves. If as it seems all they planned to do was delete accounts of a certain vintage with no games or purchases, nobody would have been any the wiser ... so why make the announcement in the first place?

No I think they had other plans more true to what was first posted ... no smoke without fire and this is just reputation recovery effort to save face and they are back peddling.

Horrible Company, the worst in the Biz by far with worst support by a country mile.
To be fair to them, they did say 2 days ago that only accounts with no games on them would be disabled and even then only 4 year old ones which havent been logged in (which seems pretty fair really, if someone hasnt logged into an account for over 4 years and has never bought anything on it then probably isnt much point in keeping it active and is something which both Blizzard and EA actually do as well), however by then it was too late because the youtube and reddit narrative had already become a mass of people throwing their toys out of the pram because Ubisoft were going to delete all their games :D

I dont like them or dislike them, they are nothing more to me than a game company who makes games that I play. I'm far too old in the tooth to be harbouring dislikes of companies, I just like to play games :D

@One 48 please, could you point on the doll where Mr Ubisoft touched you? :D

Its a long story mate and not only from one game, but two, namely Rainbow Six Siege issues and Silent Hunter 5.

They had forums up about these complaints until very recently, but lo and behold and just as we were getting somewhere, they wiped all their UBi forums off the map, if you don't believe me, here is the URL I used to keep track of it all.

At first i thought it was just a blip, but no and upon further investigation. Ubi have indeed delated all their own official forums and all outstanding complaints and issues with one clean sweep.

All gone and dust, so feel smug all you like mate, its all fun until it happens to you :(

Ubisoft are one rotten company to the core indeed IMHO ... Hope I never see you with a legitimate compliant on here mate, because I will make sure I go and mock you too.

Grow UP.

I think that is also partly due to the thing with the Ubi launcher and quietly dropping Windows 7 support - they came under a lot of pressure on the forums and finally it gained enough traction they had to reverse it. Along with a couple of other issues which went public around the same time frame... now conveniently they've retired something with such a public presence where they could be somewhat held to account :s

Apologies as not read through the thread...

Me and my son play Wildlands since the Steam Summer sale.

He has no games on his UBI account as it launches from Steam and then opens the UBI client and we connect up etc.

Would he be liable to lose his account (pretty sure I got a UBI key of Squardons mind I could give him..), or is it the point that no-one really knows cos its UBI!
