Well at work and the two shiney new Pc's are all up and running (one being mine :D )
So what a guy to do but install smp :D - well that is if someone can tell me how to get firefox running via a proxy server?

Are the setting in more that the one place?
Edit>preferances>networking>settings.

How long is the instillation? it's at 70% and it's been well over 40minutes - no one told me about the install desktop icon or what happens if knome crashes durring startup :(

Pesky OS

Ubuntu shouldn't be taking that long to install! Shouldn't crash during setup either :p

Assuming for the moment you aren't doing anything wrong, is there any special about this new PC? Special could mean none-standard hardware or something broken :D

the home instalation hung at 82% for 15min's so gave up and when to bed But morgan had other ideas :(

I'll just wait for the 'other' multi-core client to go live as me and linux don't get on it seams :o

Are you using 6.10? I might have a fix
