Their very motto is 'A Simple, Lightweight Linux Distribution'. Simple implies that it's easy to use. It doesn't have many features. Simple = Feng Shui.

Can't something be easy to use and still have a lot of features? The iPhone springs to mind for example.

EDIT: Anyway, since when was Arch simple to use?!! Not sure that that should be in their motto to be honest

It has as many features as you need, it's called package management.

The kernel is the Linux kernel, not the Ubuntu kernel. If the issue is fixed with a later kernel release, then changing distro isn't the solution for that.

Start using debian testing so you can install KDE 4. Your heaven starts right after you finish installing this.
