For such a fundamental requirement of modern computing getting wireless working under linux is proving harder than it should
As the iwlwifi driver is included in hardy I was under the impression wireless would work out of the box however the wifi led on the laptop does not light under ubuntu.
iwconfig shows that the wireless adapter does seem to be there and iwlist scan does scan and reveal local wireless networks I'm just not sure how to connect to them. Inputting the settings in network settings doesn't work.
Feel silly asking but is there not a simple app with a GUI like in windows that will list all wireless networks in the area which I can select from and will request the relevant info to connect to it.
Also how do I go about wireless profiles, for multiple networks?
Thanks
