Hi guys,

I have managed to dual boot with winxp and ubuntu, however ubuntu puts my cpu at 1.93ghx and it says it is at 60% of maximum which is about right since my e2180 is at 3.2 ghz.

Does anyone know how to get ubuntu to put my cpu at 100% all the time. I am using the cpu frequency scale monitor to check the cpu frequency.

Do you notice a decrease in performance when the CPU's scaled down? It should work on demand; when more CPU grunt is needed the frequency scaler will ramp it up to 100%. When it's idling it reduces it to save power, heat, and fan noise.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, however i restarted ubuntu, when i add the applet for frquency monitoring it give me an error however it shows my cpu at 100%, which is what i wanted originally.

I am not sure what i have done, or what has happened on it's own, but the cpu is now operating at 100%. I did try doing dpuburn in when my pc was stuck at 60%, however it never clocked up, it just stayed at 60% even when my load was at 100%.

If i want cpu scaling i will try, sudo dpkg-reconfigure gnome-applets ,looks like a nifty program.

I have disabled speedstep, however for some reason linux still wanted to put the cpu down by 60% and never put it up regardless of cpu usage, however my cpu is running at 100% now.
