i having annoying problems, i already reformatted my ubuntu drive 3 times today =.=

it seems to start up with low graphics and no sound card detected at random times, then i reformat, download restricted drivers and updates and it seem to work fine, but then later after a few restarts randomly it just go back into low graphics and no sound card =.=

hard ware:
e2160@ 3.3Ghz
Neo2 Fr p35
2GB Ram @ 840Mhz 4-4-4-12
inno 3d 8800GT 512Mb not OC

using ubuntu 8.04

btw any one know how to make some sort of recovery disk or something to install with all the updates and stuff on it? because i don't really mind reformatting that much just the long blood updates...

Dont know about the sound card issue but the graphics nvidia issue is a bug with the latest ubuntu, if you look around ubuntuforums load's of people have had problems with this new (and very buggy) release.

personally i'd install linuxmint (gutsy) as its faster, looks nicer and is a lot better.

okay i think i fixed those problems i think virtualbox was messing them up, it seems fine now.......

You were running it in virtualbox? or you had installed virtualbox host in ubuntu?
