Most of my hardware arrived today, and I am starting to assemble them.

I notice on the mobo that there is a header for the nb fan. I dont see a fan on the nb at all, so do I need to connect anything here?

It's there as a contingency. If you upgrade your NB cooling with a fan, its there for you. If you don't have a heatsink with a fan, then don't worry.

My case is the Corsair Obsidian 800D, H50 CPU Cooler (rear monted rad with push/pull fan setup (intake)), 3 x top mounted Akasa Apache 120mm fans (exhaust), 1 x 140mm Xigmatec bottom intake fan, 1 x 140mm Xigmatec cooling HDD.

Surely that is sufficient?

If not, how should I cool the nb more?

Thanks

I had the same with my motherboard (P5N-D), although it was supplied with an optional fan that you could attach if you liked.

I found that without a fan mounted onto the NB heatsink, it was getting extremely hot. I mounted the fan to the NB heatsink itself to keep it cooler.

Thatnks for your advice, I wont bother then.

Np if you ever find them getting to hot which im sure you wont you can always remove the pretty blue gigabyte sheilds they seem to keep the heat traped in, think i read you can lose 3-5c by taking them off but looks ugly more a fyi im sure thats ott
