I don't understand people saying it's not penalty because it's a 'mistake', 99% of penalties are due to a mistake. Lets just stop giving them altogether eh

Because not all mistakes are equal... Most "mistakes" directly disadvantage a team. This literally doesn't disadvantage or advantage either team and a penalty is basically a goal.

So you are saying that an action that doesn't disadvantage a team in any way should result in a goal.

If an action breaks the laws of the game then it's irrelevant, 'break the law' you should get punished. What constitutes a penalty is already massively subjective depending on what referee you get, this just adds another layer of ******** into a game that has multiple layers of ********. Don't want to give a penalty away in that situation, don't deliberately handle the ball. Simples.
