UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [26th - 28th April 2022]

I can't see how City don't get a result in Madrid. They've shown they're far better than Real and Real cannot ride their luck as much as they have tonight. The positive, from a Liverpool point of view, is this scoreline keeps City honest and doesn't allow them to take it easy next week.

RM are basically riding the "Benzema is in unreal form" train and opposition teams keep giving them easy goals.

Their luck can't last. Can it?

Job done last night. The first half was a bit frustrating but I thought we were playing fairly well and it was only a matter of time before we scored. The only small negative was we didn't get the 3rd goal to completely kill the tie. Had we done so then we could have rested a few more players in the 2nd leg but we're going to have to start fairly strong over there now.

I only watched the first half, but Fabinho did not have a good half did he? Just seemed to get everything a bit wrong.

Thiago’s nearly-a-goal was a lovely hit! Shame it was a few inches off.

Complete and utter control from us, slightly annoying with didn't totally kill it off but its looking good. Mane has been superb since coming back from the AFCON.

Total control in what was a very impressive display. I couldn't believe it was the same Villarreal team that held Bayern to a 0-0 and 1-0.

Only thing I though was abit frustrating was that they didn't get another 1 or 2 to be completely safe.

Does that show Liverpool/city are that far ahead of the rest of Europe. Liverpool made Villarreal look like a championship team. If Liverpool sign Bellingham and Klopp extends the future is going to be insane.

Fabinho was incredible in the second half though. Clearly got a bit of a half time rocket.
