UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 11th March 2021]

As someone pointed out. That difference between a well coached team with average players vs a poorly coached team with talent was perfectly illustrated today.

xG was 2.07 for us to 0.99 for them

But here, Milan played better lmao.
You are delusional if you think United deserved a win. Balls to the stats - it was awful to watch other than the opportunistic goal. Milan had much more about them. Only lacking a bit of quality in final third. It pains me to say it but more often than not we are painful to watch.

How does that work? I assume it counts an incorrect VAR decision as a correct one and discounts the goal. They scored a goal that our keeper should have saved and Slabhead missed an absolute sitter.

xG is based on chances created as well, not how well you play. You can have 2 moments of brilliance, win a game 2-0, play like utter dross and have a much better xG than a team who cut you to pieces all day but didn't have any end product.

Agree didnt see where goals were going to come from tonight
Playing James on the left was stupid. No fan but he has done well recently on the RIGHT.
Subs were as usual baffling. We need a better coach and can only hope we have something lined up for the end of the season

I've only just looked at the 'handball', to me it looks like the ball only changes course once, and that's when it hit's his abdomen. How they ruled that out is farcical and I'd quite like to see the evidence for it.

If you have two moments of brilliance and win 2-0 then it means the other team did nothing for 90 mins.

In the end we created 2 open goal chances and scored, they didn't create any big chances. People need to stop thinking possession = playing better. If you have the ball but don't create anything then you're not playing better.

They had a goal disallowed for an imaginary hand ball, should have had a clear penalty and Mctominay was very very fortunate not to have spent the last 10 minutes in the changing room. United were stale...they were boring, slow and predictable. If Milan can get a few back for the second leg United are in trouble.
