Overall...happy with our group, nasty winter trip to Slovenia but all winnable. Got to feel for Spurs, I cant see them getting out of that group
And Russia.

Famous last words but the Russian sides' home records haven't been nearly as good in the last 5-6 years as they were prior to that. Going back 10 or so years, very few PL sides came away from Russia with a result.

Those draws could've been so much harder for all the English teams, can't really complain about any of them.

Chelsea's couldn't have been a great deal harder. The only way your group could have been harder would have been if you drew Leipzig from pot 4 but a trip to Azerbaijan was the next toughest thing. Roma were the toughest pot 3 side you could have faced and Atletico were as difficult as you could get from pot 2.

Utd and Liverpool got off pretty much as easily as they could have hoped, City not much worse but Spurs, although could have been slightly harder, could have been a lot easier too.

Glad Spurs got a hard group, whats the point of qualifying for the competition and hoping for crap teams. You have to play the hard teams eventually anyway. Stops Poch sticking out a weak squad too.

Actually think the russian teams (and Shaktar) could throw a few spanners in the works , the quality of their pitches are generally atrocious along with the fact they will probably be rock hard and with the travel it could make a lot of those games pretty awkward.

Utd drew Benfica and CSK not that long ago and failed to get out of the group if I recall correctly.

Lol @ Celtic looks like they will be finishing bottom of that group :p thats what Rogers gets for making out they are some amazing team and that they could challenge for the top 4 in the English Prem just because they went unbeaten in that joke of a Scottish league.
If we had the money English teams get it'd be possible after a few seasons.

Small detail but the way the fixtures for Spurs' group have been arranged might work against Spurs. Dortmund play Real in the final round of fixtures - presuming Real were to be already qualified and possibly even guaranteed top spot, it's plausible that they could rest players in that final game. Last thing Spurs need would be Dortmund getting cheap points off Real.

Damn, a trip to Russia could be really dangerous on all fronts.

We're away to Spartak on the Tuesday and then Utd are away to CSKA on the Wednesday - there's potential for a lot of problems there.

You can go further, earning more money, whilst resting players for later in the touneyment and other competitions.

I'd rather play Real in the final than the group stages. Even if we lost both.

Dortmund aren't all that great recently, and 2 unreal away trips.
Agree but when you've got Real and Apoel as the other 2 sides in the group it almost makes it a straight shootout between Spurs and Dortmund. Real will go into all their games as clear favourites and everybody will expect to take maximum points off Apoel. If Dortmund were to get cheap points off Real in the final game then Spurs could end up needing to take 4 points of Dortmund or beating Real.
