Just not good enough. Been a little off the pace all game and they've just toyed with us. Created nothing and gave them so many opportunities through **** poor defending. My god Athletico are boring as **** though. All that talent and they play like that. Depressing game for more than 1 reason.

2nd half madrid played well and created loads of chances!

no killer instinct as you say.
 
Ahh well was hoping somehow we could give Wenger a trophy for him to sign off on but wasn’t meant to be.

We really missed a massive opportunity in the first leg, should have hammered them but nope thanks to our comical defending, we let them have an away goal.

Didn’t fancy our chances tonight as the stats were against us.

Anyhow just hoping the next manager manages to sort out this team and get us competing properly.

This is why we shouldn’t have let Giroud go, at least he was a target in the middle.
 
I never understood why Giroud didn't get the credit he deserved, he's a striker - he scored goals. Under pressure and on big occasions. Tonight though, I don't know what he could have conjured up with those poor crosses.
 
Yet more abysmal refereeing. Marseille score a winning goal in extra time, from a corner which was SO CLEARLY not a corner that you have to wonder how the abundance of officials you get in the europa league didnt see it.

Simply put he's just not good enough to start games, amazing as an impact sub though. With laca and auba ahead of him he just wouldn't get enough games and needed to leave for the sake of his career.

Understood and I mostly agree. Still deserves credit though.
 
Arsenal already blew their chances in the 1st leg, 80 mins against 10 men and they could only score 1 goal and then conceded an away goal.
 
Sad end to Wengers Arsenal career.

Can't see this current team winning anything soon, the new manager will have his work cut out.
