UEFA Champions League/Europa League 16/17/18 August *** Spoilers ***

A win is a win. Proves that Wenger is right and our team is strong enough without Fab.

Ok, seriously now lol

Hopefully with Wenger taking a look down from the stands on his team he will see it from a fans point of view and realise it is time to spend.

Very fortunate result for Arsenal but the clean sheet makes them big favourites to go through imo.

Anybody know whether Wilshere will be fit for Saturday?

lol, I was half way through your post and ready to go absolutely ballistic :p

I think Udinese were woeful for 10 mins then steadily improved till half time and second half were quite a bit the better side, which seeing as they haven't played a game yet probably wasn't surprising.

Gervinho....... as I said when we first saw him, I wasn't encouraged and the 2 tap ins didn't sway me from the rest of his performance. Newcastle and today, touch, awful, passing, horrific, 98% of his crosses and shots being blocked easily, insists on turning back to cross on his right foot despite being past the defender two-three times and ended up giving it away. Anyone can have a bad start, he's having a truly shocking start.

Theo, put in effort for the first 5 mins, then useless, shocking occurance of our three worst sicknotes getting injured in their 1st or 2nd games. How you can sell CLichy and go into the season with Gibbs as your only real choice I don't know, he's not good enough to be first team and he's not got the reliability to be anything but 3rd string emergency player. Sagna, woeful first half, had a good 10 min spell in the second, one nasty tackle he got the ball but studded the guy in the ankle pretty badly, caught out of position over and over.

Djourou, Rosicky, whats the point, seriously. That run in the first half, Song gives it away weakly from an attacking corner, they break, our defence decides to step up to play the left winger offside, they forgot the guy with the ball could just.... keep on going, should have been 1-1 then, shocking, truly shocking defending, lets jump forward and out the way

Need, a right back, two left backs, a CB, two DM's, and a winger at least, also a Cesc replacement.

Frimpong....... he was actually worse than Song in giving away freekicks, worthless.

Anyone know what the punishment would be if they decide Wenger cheated in regards to not being in contact with the bench, he gets punished, or could the team be punished like disqualified or something?

Oh, I did have the same thought as you, maybe watching from the stands he'd notice things he doesn't normally, like how ruddy awful half our players are. Maybe he'll fire Boro for being incompetant and everything will go back to old Arsenal goodness..... can only hope really.

Doesn't look likely.

It really sums up some people on here when they criticize a player with 23 minutes competitive game time in his short career. Whilst the first 2 things he did where fouls ("two bad challenges", seriously? I've heard some stupid things in my time, but those were not studs up bad challenges) I though he looked ok, had a few good runs, keep hold of the ball and made a few simple passes.

Turned up to the game with a protective boot on his foot, so would be surprised.

Grrr, has anyone said whats wrong with his foot, the only official thing I've seen is from maybe the monday after the game he limped off, saying it was 3 days max............

Surely at some stage Wenger has to question the competancy of his medical staff, they misdiagnose almost everything, which seemingly leads the players to not get instant treatment and make it worse.

You know some people have watched him LOTS of times in which, in lower pressure situations, he's still equally as crap. He's Song mk 2, nothing more or less, shortish, strongish, and gets just about everything wrong. Defensive midfielder yet frequently gets caught the wrong side of the player, frequently concedes stupid fouls, frequently does it in dangerous area's.

He might get better, but he won't if he thinks Song is the example he should be aspiring too, and Wenger unfortunately by playing Song and making zero effort to replace him is sending that exact message to Frimpong, do as he does..... which is suck badly.

Thought Chamakh was really poor last night, thought he would have grabbed that opportunity with both hands :(

Was rather worrying to see Bendtner on the bench, was expecting/wanting to see Vela instead but he's now gone out on loan which is doubly worrying in terms of increasing the likelihood of Bendtner staying.

Another classic Walcott performance - decent instinctive finish, but when he has time to think he is generally woeful, that 'chip' was a case in point, it made Geoff Thomas' effort for England look like a piledriver.
