Ronaldo in big games:

That is Ronaldo in big games, he always seems to bottle it on the bigger stage.

Cue someone finding a single game where he played well and using it to disprove the 99% of occasions when he is gash :p

First time Real faced any Real opposition in Europe this season.

That game against Bayern was the first side from one of the top four* European leagues they've played and they lost.

*England / Germany / Italy / Spain

Despite all the individual talent, they suck as team Mou is a good manager but after some of his calls this year have been suspect.

Marcelo, Coentrao, Ramos are awful defenders and Arbeloa isn't much better, Alonso's pretty much total contribution was doing late fouls on people, Ozil is slow, unfit and he has far less good games against big teams than Ronaldo does, Di Maria can't stay on his feet, Benzema misses far too often, Khedira has an odd great game, too little threat going forward, not really good enough defensively, two DM's limits the team far too much also.

Most of the team is vastly over rated, without Ronaldo they'd be struggling in so many games, Mourinho is a scared girl in these games, going two DM's and having the team sit back, they give Ronaldo little to no support and hope he can carry the team on his own, against Bayern/Barca that just isn't going to happen.

Ronaldo had no problem in the big games for Portugal, or Utd, the only time he's been poor is when Mourinho decides on a tactic that basically boils down to, try not to lose, sit in your own half, pray Ronaldo can beat the other team on his own.

The reason Messi is so good and Barca win those big games so often, they never, and would never think of trying, leaving Messi upfront on his own with everyone else sat back. Messi hasn't ever failed to have full support from his team attacking and I can't think of the last time Barca tried to steal a result by playing 10 behind the ball, parking the bus and hoping to catch the other team on the break.

Of course saying that, even despite Real playing most el classico's like girls, Ronaldo has a few goals against Barca, and set up the crucial away goal last night.

Whenever I've seen Khedira he has always struck me as well, a poorer version of Alonso, who kicks people more often.

It's a good job Real Madrid get very 'friendly' refereeing decision else Ramos would perpetually be on a red card.

Barcelona team to play Chelsea: Valdes, Alves, Puyol, Mascherano, Adriano, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Sanchez & Messi.

I guarantee anything other than a convincing win for Barca will see nickg emerge and claim Di Matteo > Fergie :o
