UEFA Champions League/Europa League 23/24/25 February *** Spoilers ***

Yep, LVG will have Rashford and Memphis on double training this week to weed out their tendancy to take shots at the goal and instead keep possession. Scoring goals gives the ball to the opposition see, philosophy.

Were Shrewsbury better than Midtjylland?

No, Shrewsbury were a special kind of ****. Midtjylland were just not good enough all over the pitch and Memphis was ruining them on the left. I think one of the biggest issues we had away at Midtjylland was their super narrow pitch. They stayed compact and made it hard for us to break down. They couldn't do that on a larger pitch.

He ran Bruges ragged, you all need to calm down like the commentators

An own goal and a stupid tackle got us back in and unsettled them, Middjiland fell to pieces in that second half. Nice to put the knife under the circumstance but that meant very little to me. Some shocking displays from the usual starters, Carrick.... Mate... Lingaard, funnily the kids out to impress were the best part in my eyes, probably something to do with having very little exposure to LVG

What are you talking about? No one is saying this is a new start or anything other than the bashing of a **** team we should have put to bed in the first leg.

Not sure what Carrick did wrong in a position he barely plays in (and it was a savable goal but thats why Romero has always been a No2 for most teams)

Lingard did ok too, admittedly the dive was stupid but he was touched just went down too late /too easily

Napoli are out so that's one good team out of the way for the English clubs, just Dortmund and Leverkusen left i think.

Edit - or not, still quite a few decent ones left

Man Utd
Liverpool
Spurs
Dortmund
Leverkusen
Bilbao
Sevilla
Valencia
Villarreal
Sparta Prague
Lazio
Shaktar
Basel
Fenerbache
Braga
Anderlecht or Olympiacos

The player wrecker he is, they will probably get injured.

Most of the team has been wrecked and now they praise him for trusting youth, the manu united way.

Its amazing what crap people believe when it suits their agenda. I'm sure if LvG knew that this was going to be the state of the squad he would have bought / kept more senior players. Either that or he would have cloned Fellaini a few times.

At least we will have 1 english team in the last 8.

Dortmund will be a really hard game for Spurs. Quite a few of the stronger teams are playing each other in this round so whoever gets through will fancy their chances of winning it I reckon.

Yes and no. Mainly no.

We've had 2 first team strikers on the books including rookie martial from the start of the season. Did lvg really think they could play every game? To sell both rvp and hernandez and not replace either was a horrible decision.

The fact that we have to play lindgard on the right wing is a huge problem. Even without injuries, who was competing for that spot? Valencia? It's like battle of the premiership worst crossers.

Does anyone at any of the top 20 European teams have nightmares about facing either valencia or lindgard? No. So what are they doing hogging squad numbers at the world's richest* club? You can buy better in the epl, let alone from abroad.

only if playing 532 was the plan would it be suitable. A tactic completely unsuitable for utd and the epl.

All lvg mistakes.

Well I think that LvG assumed that Memphis would be much better than he has been. He has also been playing Mata out on that side. He also doesn't seem to have an issue with playing Fellaini up front. He basically assumed we wouldn't get that many serious injuries and that certain players would "do" if push came to shove.
