Win against Braga pretty much puts us through to the next round if Galatasaray can get anything in their game.

Man City on the other hand can pretty much go out if they don't get all 3 points against Ajax. I don't see City getting all 6 points from Dortmund and Real Madrid return games. Ajax aren't going to have a good night against them and I don't see Dortmund getting anything against Real. Interesting group.

Arsenal can virtually put themselves through by beating Schalke.

Hopefully we'll have Cleverley and Kagawa back in the lineup :)

Rooney seems to taking that Kagawa spot. Welbeck and RVP with Rooney behind seems to be working just now. I knew this would eventaully happen when they signed RVP. I don't think Kagawa is that effective playing anywhere but just behind the striker or strikers. He cannot put in any defensive work so is pretty much useless playing in a deeper posistion.

Rooney/RVP with Kagawa behind would be best but Rooney has been doing so well in his current role.

I imagine we will rotate quite a few in tonight, perhaps even Young/Nani coming back to the starting 11.

Tonight? This is Monday. :p

Not sure where Nani and Young really stand right now with UTD. Can see a few players going in either Jan or the summer. Chico is starting to get the Berba treatment and I think a few teams from Spain are interesting in him. Can probably get close to 20m for him.

Actually Kagawa has looked most useful when played wide left, anywhere else and he's struggled.

Personally I'd like to see the following Tuesday night;

-----------Lindegaard-----------
Rafael---Evans---Ferdinand---Evra
------------Fletcher------------
------Cleverley---Anderson------
-------------Young-------------
------Hernandez--Rooney------

Subs: De Gea, Wootton, Carrick, Giggs, Nani, Kagawa, RVP

Obviously Young and Rooney can switch positions as far as being the furthest forward of the midfield diamond is concerned

EDIT: Also there's not a chance we'll get anywhere near to 20m for Hernandez

Malaga are interested in signing him for 12m. He is 24 now and should be showing his full potential at that age but he is the sort of player you have to play to. He really doesn't add anything else to his game but demonstating the off side rule. His first season made him look like the next Ole but that was a long long time ago. Get him in the box and his movement is amazing but he is a missing man anywhere else on the pitch.

Back on topic.

David Silva out of the Ajax game.

and how many goals will Barca put past Celtic? Double figures?

I still think he's better than Welbeck.

Who Hernandez? No chance. For as long as I can remember Chich hasn't even shown his perceived better finishing let alone anything else. Personally I thought Welbeck played very well at the weekend (the pundits seemed to agree as well MOTD even put him in their team of the day ahead of RVP Saturday night)

Fergie has confirmed both Ferdinand and Evra will be rested for tomorrow's game (he also insists there's no problem with Rio over the weekend)

Prior to the International break Smalling was meant to be back but he apparently wasn't quite ready for Stoke, if he's not back then yeah it'll either be Wootton or Carrick (both potentially dodgy)

EDIT: Nope just read both Smalling and Jones are still 3 weeks away from being ready :(

Smalling isn't fit, SAF even said so at the conference.

He's only doing non contact training with the reserves at the moment and he expects him and Jones to be a few weeks away.

Buttner to start? Really like this kid, will become one of the best full backs in the world one day.:D

Probably stick Carrick at cb with Evans.

to hold friedel wholly responsible for the amount of goals he has shipped would be extremely harsh but his failings are showing.

he's not quick enough at times (though this is to be expected) and lloris needs to get involved in the prem games now. from now until christmas is a hectic time and i'd rather we brought lloris in for the prem games and have cudicini for the euro's, friedel for domestic cup games. that may be a little harsh on the bloke but we've got to make the decision sooner or later, i'd rather sooner.

the faster BAE and kaboul are back, the better. vert is wasted at lb and gallas is not alert enough. it doesn't help having an inexperienced caulker and a bat **** crazy walker playing with him but we need to start making these transitions so the team can gel.

Not sure why welbeck made the motd team. Yes he did score but he messed up a lot too. im thinking its something to do with Young+English+Man Utd+ Hype.

Chicharito hasnt really hit any kind of form this season. But if he was given as many starts as welbeck has had then maybe he would be doing better?
