UEFA Champions League/Europa League 27/28/29 March *** Spoilers ***

to be honest I didnt think much of the 1st half (well mins 20ish - 45, as I missed the first bit)

Barca did well keeping the ball, and kept constant pressure just infront of the back four but barely did anything with it. The "live" appeal of the penalty looked like Sanchez had lost control of the ball (because of the angle of the tv shot), from where the official by the goal was standing he must have been blind not to give it

I thought Milan did well to attack as much as they did and not concede , 2nd half was better but Barca still relied on a lot of possesion without being that threatening behind the back four.

Next week should be a belter (pity its on Sky lol) - I will be cheering on Benfica (even though I cant see them managing 2+ goals without a bit of luck)......and Milan

Barca have lodged a complaint with UEFA over the state of the pitch at the San Siro...dont know what thats going to achieve but watching the game last night...it seemed to me that Barca lacked the killer touch...plus they should have had at least a penalty as well.

I posted about the pitch during the game last night. It wasn't as bad as when we played them but players from both sides were slipping and falling over left right and centre so it didn't help either of them. That said, they didn't water the pitch before the game, and several teams in La Liga have done the same thing with games against Barca in order to slow the ball down, so it wouldn't surprise me if gamesmanship played a small part, although the amount the pitch cut up can't just be blamed on that.

The pitch was a disgrace when we played them. They obviously do it on purpose. It's a shame really

You may not like it but for a team like Milan they're obviously not going to beat Barca by playing football so they do whatever they can to get an advantage and then hope to luck out in the second leg and hit them with away goals. Like I said you may not like it but it's smart.

totally agree

Home stadium, your choice how the pitch plays - sore "losers" sounds like to me (I know they didnt lose, but the expression fits)

Fair enoug Barca wanted an away goal or two - but no point whinging to others that you werent up to your best either.

Collymore is such a horrible ****. Red card for diving? Since when you idiot?

Only just turned the game on by the way what's the pattern of play been?

Schalke dominated and could've been 2-0 up before Bilbao broke and scored. Schalke scored 31 seconds later and continued to dominate. They've won the midfield battle and allowed Bilbao no time on the ball.

You're deluded.

I guess Barca are too? The pitch last night was like a bowling green compared to when we played them, they re-laid the pitch like 2 days before the game ffs, even the ***** who messed Wembley up for about 3 years running weren't that bad

You expect better in the CL though, especially at this stage in the competition. It'll do them no good in the return leg though, they needed some goals last night
