A free-kick to Real should have been given but that doesn't make Ronaldo tripping Masch (intentionally or unintentionally) less of a foul. 2 wrongs don't make a right and all that.

But if he only tripped Masch (100% unintentionally) because of the foul on him then the ref should have let it go, very harsh.

Wasn't even a foul on Mascherano. If he did that in the Real box he would've got booked for diving.
