Well from having no problem playing him tomorrow Vidic is now not going to be ready to play for at least another 10 days.

Another rage inducing pile of dross expected tonight :(.

Yep and with most of our main players being rested, I can see at best another pathetic draw but who knows maybe these youngsters can show a thing or 2 to our first teamers :p

Might skip the Arsenal game and just hope City get thrashed and that takes the edge off the likely hiding we're going to take.

Meh, we have some good players in reserve who can perform, but I expect the wrong mix of youth/experience, and as usual because of his painful reluctance to give some of those guys a try, they'll have no form/match fitness.

While Arshavin still looks one of our best players in all the 10 mins he gets, he looked to have put on some weight in his last appearance, not being played and knowing Wenger won't give him much time isn't helping him. Eisfeld should have had several games by now, instead, nothing and if he started today it will be new to a team with his first competitive appearance rather than his 5th or more appearance. Wenger was harping on about Meade getting a chance at left back and being a fighter blah blah blah, but he also has had a tiny sub appearance in the cup, rather than a few testing appearances. Especially considering our fullback situation the fact that some of our younger fullbacks haven't had a chance till now, a few 30 mins in the league and full cup games, is a joke.

If we were going into this game with Arshavin/Chamakh having several solid sub appearances, a full back who has started a game before, etc, then this is the kind of game that 8 years ago our youth teams could come out and put in a great performance, win in the cup or manage a draw in Europe, today, I have no hope for that basically.

Also assuming Wenger with Gervinho, probably upfront but maybe on the wing, but these are the games when youth players need a couple solid performers who don't waste everything to get a team to work, not a useless donkey who screws everything up.

All I can say is, thank **** Santos is injured.

Arsenal really, really need to play a strong side. They have to get a good performance I think, they need to use this "spare" match to improve their confidence, vastly.

What happens with existing Saturday fixtures when you're in the Europa League, do they get put back to Sundays?

Arsenal XI v Olympiakos: Szczesny; Jenkinson, Squillaci, Vermaelen, Meade; Rosicky, Coquelin; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey, Gervinho; Chamakh.

City XI - Hart, Maicon, Kompany (c), Lescott, Nastasic, Nasri, Garcia, Barry, Dzeko, Sinclair, Tevez

Strong side from City.

Yes, they do. Have you given up hope already?

Pretty much, can't see Shakhtar beating Juve no matter what we do.
If they needed to I might've been a bit more optimistic as I reckon they can, but doubt they'll be that bothered by the result.

Substitutes: Shea, Monteiro, Hajrovic, Angha, Arshavin, Ansah, Akpom

Eisfield still can't get a game. I've not heard of some of those people and how is Arshavin STILL on the bench!

Is Arsenal's group done? Seems odd that they'd rest players if top spot was still to play for

As for City's team, 3 at the back is going to fail again....as is that midfield. He's obviously prioritising the derby on Sunday

We're through already but 1 point behind Schalke so I have no idea why we're playing a weakened side
