UEFA Champions League/Europa League Draw 25/26 August

At least there won't be too much travelling involved for our group with only Olympiakos being a bit of a trek. Don't want to get drawn with Barca again so ffs finish the group top this time!

United's group... lets hope none of those games are on ITV otherwise zzzzzzzzzz. Chelsea and City's group should have some good games.

Arsenal's group isn't easy by any stretch. City's could go absolutely any way, god knows who'll win that.

Does anyone know how the knockout stages are paired up? Is it winner of A vs runner-up in H, and so on?

Jerome Boateng is clearly going to have two absolute ******* blinders against us in the group games after being constantly injured and useless here. Unsurprisingly tough group, as long as we don't drop down to the Europa and at least progress ill be pretty happy!

We've played Valencia before but both Leverkusen and Genk are new opposition. Dates for the diary:

Tuesday September 13 - Chelsea v Bayer Leverkusen

Wednesday September 28 - Valencia v Chelsea

Wednesday October 19 - Chelsea v RC Genk

Tuesday November 1 - RC Genk v Chelsea

Wednesday November 23 - Bayer Leverkusen v Chelsea

Tuesday December 6 - Chelsea v Valencia

We have a tough group...Borussia Dortmund isnt a game im looking forward to...German champs arent they???...im pretty sure we will beat the likes of Marseille and Olympiakos but not so sure about Dortmund....fingers crossed Wenger gets some players in...i dont want to meet Barca in the knock out round pleaseeeeee:D

The format will be as follows (December 16):

The eight group-winners and eight runners-up of the group stage qualify for the second round. The clubs that finish this stage in third position in their group move into the third round of the current Europa League. The clubs that finish this stage in fourth position in their group are eliminated.

The draw for the 2nd round takes the following rules into account:

a) Clubs from the same association must not be drawn against each other,
b) The winners and runners-up of the same group must not be drawn against each other,
c) The group winners must not be drawn against each other,
d) The runners up must not be drawn against each other,
e) The runners up must play the first leg at home.

The group winners are seeded above the runners-up.

See 2008 CL 2nd round draw procedure for more details.

The "procedure" is quite straight forward. :D

We should easily be beating Olympiakos and OM, not sure about Dortmund, they're a bit of an unknown quantity to me. Apparently they're very good, current Bundesliga champs and I'm not sure about now, but I remember they used to play some very nice football, around the time we signed Rosicky from them but I haven't really kept tabs on them all that much. I hear they've got some really highly rated youngsters and a decent blend of youth and experience, could be a really tough match both home and away but I'm REALLY looking forward to it. :D

United have it the easiest by far
Chelsea & Arsenal have got tough groups
City have got the hardest

Agree with this to some degree. Although if it was any other English team in Arsenal's group I'd say they'd sail through. Given what has happened to Arsenal of late, they may find some of those away ties tough.

I still think all 4 teams will go through though.
