Rashford is a striker not winger, same goes for Martial.
Id rather them play as striker or not at all.

We have depay, young, Mkhitaryan, Valencia etc who can play wing.

You reel off those names as if they are worth playing...Mikhitaryan yes but Jose clearly doesnt fancy him.
 
Mkhitaryan looked smooth considering his complete lack of game time. No idea why he isn't in favour.
 
I'm glad United didn't nick a late equaliser as they should've been about 5-0 down before the Rooney goal, it was a nice strike by Rooney but he was otherwise garbage as usual. The papers will be pouring over him tomorrow though.

But Martial is still a good winger, Rashford has looked pretty clueless out there.

Neither Valencia or Young can play wing, that's why we've turned them into fullbacks.
 
This little nugget from Jose in the post match worried me:

"It is difficult to cope, having to play with two left-backs at centre-back."

So we went into the season with only 2 centre backs then? At one point he was even starting one of those left backs over Smalling.
 
Should you of signed another CB then? Tbf to the guy, he's seen his players for like 4/5 month's now, only a few months of really seeing his players in competitive matches, Rojo/Blind did alright last season, he probably thought they maybe ok. I think united fans need to allow bit of time for managers to scout the squad and it's players and see who'll fit into their tactical systems. Youre just going to keep on changing managers otherwise

Quite, no one will notice the Euro Cup on their wiki honours list. These are very good competitive matches to test out those he doesn't see frequently in the PL, see who can cut it. Premiership is far more important, full steam ahead for the title and qualification to the Champions League
 
Referee was lucky that Southampton won that game, never heard such abuse at St Mary's, I think people would have been waiting for him outside the ground if we'd lost.

Schneiderlin, Rooney, Darmian, Martial, Rojo and arguably Shaw, can Blind prove himself there though, he does seem to be a bit better tactically.

i make that least 5 players, your best back 4, Valencia, Smalling, Bailly, Blind..only Blind was playing.

2 of those are injured though, and perhaps Smalling too. So yes that was pretty much our strongest team, same defence that played at the weekend. We didn't rest people. It was our strongest 11 except Rooney and Schneiderlin, which is what I said in the first place.
