UEFA Champions League/Europa League ** Spoilers ** [27/28/29 November 2018]

Utd win in the 91st minute with pub football tactics and Mourinho acts like a ****. If Utd have to win then this is the only way they should win :D

Its a depressing time to be a United fan, it really is. We win a game against a pub team through a lucky goal in the 90th minute and suddenly everything is alright. We draw that game and people are up in arms and whinging about the club and Mourinho but now the headlines are about Mourinho and his celebrations and **** talking after the match. He should be sacked. Its as simple as that. We are an awful team. Even if Rashford had put away his chances last night it wouldn't change the fact that we are possibly the worst coached side in the premier league. The top teams don't rely on strikers scoring that one chance to win most of their games. They forget about the 3 chances they missed because they scored 4.

When I read the BBC text on a Saturday it read "City miss a great opportunity, City miss a sitter, City should be 3 up." I come back at the end and City have won 4-0 but they had 15 shots on target. I watch the United game and we create perhaps 2 chances and miss them and Mourinho is complaining that his players aren't performing. The best teams take their chances when it matters, I get that but the best teams demolish the smaller teams week in week out and create so many chances that they can miss a few.

I didn't even celebrate when Fellaini scored last night because its just another result we don't deserve that could prolong the crap that is Mourinhos time at United. I don't think we have the best team in the league but I do think we are in the top 3/4. I do think that with the players we have now we could be playing good football. Watching any other decent team just brings home how poorly coached we are and how little identity the club has these days.

The only hope I have is that Mourinho is only here because we haven't been able to get the manager we want yet and that we are perhaps even thinking about restructuring the football side of the club so that we don't have another 5 years of this utter dross.

Utd have a top 4 squad but not a top 4 team.

I disagree. I think we have a great first XI I just think they are awfully coached and don't know how to pay as a team. Chelsea are another prime example of a team that can go from winning a league title to mid-table the season after. Players don't turn **** over a 3 months period. After such a long time of poor football you start to think that the players are rubbish when its the utilisation of them.

Liverpools first XI isn't stunning but together they play well and they have quality in important positions. Tottenham are the same. They have perhaps 6 really good players and the others are simply doing a good job in a good system.

To be honest, the only team that is truly quality throughout is City.

Until we get a manager who coaches the team properly and gives them an identity I think we will continue to be awful and wonder how top players are underperforming so badly for us. The truth is they are good players they are just being sandbagged.

Actually he isn't that far off - only because Mouinho wont play some "squad" members that actually should be playing a lot more frequently infront of Smalling /Jones/ Valencia/ Matic and Fellaini.

Last night would have been 10 times better performance if we had played Bailly instead of Jones , Dalot instead of Valencia, Herrera instead of Fellaini (and Fred further forward), ...even without swapping the untouchable Matic (who has been diabolical for months and has a turning circle a cruise ship would be proud of) for Periera .

A lot of the players aren't playing to their maximum, but I still think Sanchez wouldn't have worked no matter who was on the touchline - just another player like Veron, ADM etc that don't show up / don't work in a Utd shirt.

Sanchez has barely been given a sniff of a chance and has been shunted all over the place or asked to come on in the last 10 minutes and turn around a game with a tired and disjointed squad around him. Our midfield is a joke. Yesterday we had the juxtaposition of Matic and Fellaini joined with Fred and Lingard. Tell me one other team in the league that does that. Do City change their playing style twice a week or change most of their personnel from game to game and stick completely different style players in the middle of their team all the time.

Honestly it boggles my mind that people think that Sanchez has turned **** in a few months after playing in the PL for 5 years. The common factor in every player that comes to United and fails is Mourinho currently. Our biggest issue is coaching and a lack of team identity and Mourinho is the sole cause of that. If Sanchez was at City he would be banging them in. Mourinho destroys players confidence, drops them for weeks for no reason, plays them out of position, doesn't give them a fair chance and then publicly berates them and blames them for the teams issues.

Really?

You dont think youre lacking a defence? Who was the last CB you signed prior to Bailly? Seems to be ages ago..

Dalot has looked good when played, Shaw is good and Bailly was good for a while and then fell out of favour and has just disappeared. Liverpool don't have an amazing defence, Arsenals is equally **** and Tottenham / Chelsea don't have a strong defence. I would say ours could be plenty good enough under the right manager. There is a simple thing that all those other teams have in common. They score goals and teams fear them so they don't attack as much. Very few of the top teams have a rock solid defence but their overwhelming quality elsewhere makes most teams play defensively against them for fear of getting battered.

This is why I can't look past Mourinho as the issue. I don't care how good or bad you think our first XI is, its not as bad as our league position or performances are suggesting. You could give me an F1 car to drive and I would get beaten by Lewis Hamilton in a stock fiesta around a race track. The car isn't the issue, its the driver. When a manager can't take half a billion pounds worth of talent and get them to beat utter dross like Young Boys with ease you know something is wrong.

Sorry that's complete BS - Sanchez has manopolised the left hand side for the most part since his arrival nearly a year ago - yeah ok he has been shunted around a little bit more recently to the CF position and out right - but majority of his game time (which HAS been extensive since his arrival) has been on the left.

We would be doing a lot better completely forgetting about him and getting Rashford and Martial to be coming on for each other that was working so well upto this time last season.

Have Lingard and Mata swapping on the right or when the game dictates (or even trying Periera out there)

JM might be one of the problems at the club, but he isn't by any means the biggest (which is the Glazers & ****forbrains dictating football matters rather than people who actually KNOW what football is about). It doesn't matter who else comes in until that changes because otherwise it will end up the same pile of turd on the pitch.

Think you are actually agreeing. :p I mean that yes you have a great squad/first 11 but are not a great team.

Also other than De Gea not a single Utd player would get into the Liverpool 1st team, caveat "on current form".

Hes made 25 appearances including from the bench for us from what I can tell. That will be about 1/3 of the matches played in that time, perhaps less. Hes been asked to play with the oaf that is Lukaku most of the time as well. Hes a quick technical player who is being played next to a slow and immobile CF with a **** LB behind him when he is on the left.

We have played that at various points and its not working at the moment.

He really is by far the biggest issue currently. Mourinho has bought hundreds of millions of pounds worth of players and is making them look like a league one side. I don't care even a little if he wanted player X, Y or Z in the summer. He didn't get them and he has a squad that has the quality to easily be sitting top 4 yet we are currently mid-table. Complain about the Glazers and Woodward when the manager isn't getting the players he needs to win the league or CL but to blame them for Mourinho not being able to get a basic output from the players he has is ridiculous. I think that Woodward needs to take a step back but he has backed Mourinho to the tune of £300m or so. Only City can top that so how are our issues not mainly Mourinhos fault??

Ahh, I thought you were saying first XI vs squad strength i.e. subs etc. But yes, I think you could give this team to Klopp and magically they would be twice the team in a month or so.
