So Shaw starts for the first time in over 200 days. Jose probably just trying to put him in the shop window.

Disappointing to see that even when we rotate, even when we're playing 3 centre backs we're still not willing to give Tuanzebe a shot, classic Jose.

Also Mkhi seems to be getting the Shaw treatment now, just vanished off the face of the planet.

Is it just me or does lukaku look a little lighter and faster than normal?

Lukaku seems to have been working on his build up play, he's been much better in the last few weeks. Just needs to get back on the scoresheet now.

Same with Rashford actually, he's been poor recently when he's played.

So I'm not 100& sure on the offside rule but I thought a player off the field counts as out of play?
Didn't see the goal. Was he officially off the field, as in went off to receive treatment or did he just end up off the field during play? If it's the latter then I'm pretty sure he's active.

No he slid out of play with one of their players.

Fair enough I wasn't sure.

We've actually played pretty well, unfortunately we have two guys up front who are very low on confidence at the moment. Rashford in particular has been poor. Shaw has had a very good game so far.

They've taken pretty much their only chance.

A defending player who leaves the field of play without the referee’s permission shall be considered to be on the goal line or touchline for the purposes of offside until the next stoppage in play or until the defending team has played the ball towards the halfway line and it is outside their penalty area. If the player left the field of play deliberately, the player must be cautioned when the ball is next out of play.

Dani Alves has a shoulder across his body holding him back during a corner and goes down holding his stomach as if he's been punched. Cheat.

Worse than that, Alves literally punched Tolisso in the stomach a couple of seconds before that, Tolisso goes down on one knee but immediately gets up and tries to get on with the game, he barely catches Alves who was holding him again and Alves throws himself down, rolls around, Thiago two hands shoves Tolisso to the ground violently and in the end Tolisso gets a yellow for basically nothing and Alves gets a yellow for a punch, a dive, trying to deceive the ref and Thiago gets nothing for shoving a player to the ground for no reason.

Castles is still keeping up the anit Shaw agenda, blaming him for their goal.

It looked like we were trying to hold a high line and Smalling played him on, Regardless we should have dealt with the cross better.

Of course they seem to have given the goal to the player that hit the ball so they're not even acknowledging that Dzagoev touched it :D

Just looking through the groups and as things stand, if Liverpool were to top their group then the teams they could possibly face would be: Basel, Bayern, Juve, Shakhtar, Porto or Real. If we were to come 2nd it would be: PSG, Roma, Barca or Besiktas. Topping your group is going to make zero difference this year by the looks of things.
