The road to erudition
Ajax v Dynamo Kiev, (agg 1-1), PO, L2, 19:45
Auxerre v Zenit St Petersburg, (agg 0-1), PO, L2, 19:45
FC Copenhagen v Rosenborg, (agg 1-2), PO, L2, 19:45
MSK Zilina v Sparta Prague, (agg 2-0), PO, L2, 19:45
Tottenham v Young Boys, (agg 2-3), PO, L2, 19:45

This game will arguably make or break Spurs' season, if we go through we get £20-30m and the chance to show Europe we are ready for the next level. If we fail, then fingers will get pointed at the management about their failure to adequately invest, as well as suffering a blow to morale and profile.

No Modric, but Kranjcar was rested for the weekend game at Stoke so I expect him to play 90 mins. Lennon is starting to look back on form, Bale is ridiculously unplayable at times, the big question mark is still over our strike force. Defoe is expected to play, but is carrying an injury that will see him sidelined from an operation after the game. We need investment in that area or the others to really stake a claim at being top players, some product to live up to the price tags is sorely needed.

I'm pretty confident we'll go through, my prediction is 3-1 on the night, 5-4 on aggregate. Kranjcar to score a wonder goal.

Tottenham (from): Gomes, Cudicini, King, Hutton, Bale, Kaboul, Naughton, Bassong, Dawson, Corluka, Jenas, Assou-Ekotto, Walker, Huddlestone, Rose, Lennon, Palacios, Kranjcar, Dos Santos, Crouch, Defoe, Keane, Pavyluchenko.

I predict:

Gomes
Corluka King Dawson Assou-Ekotto
Lennon Huddlestone Kranjcar Bale
Crouch Defoe

Should be a formality; I guess there are plenty of possible explanations for the very poor first half against Young Boys - the plastic pitch, nerves, no Huddlestone, maybe even complacency - and none of them will be a factor tonight, Spurs to win easily.

Due to the absence of a thread last night and me only logging on after the games anyway:

-Sampdoria are stupid (3-0 up in injury time, why is Stankevicius in the final third of the pitch?)
-Loved Braga's result. I thought they could get a draw at Sevilla to knock them out but I never believed they could go and win there.
-The Anderlecht penalties were a bit of a laugh.

On to tonight: hoping for Zenit to qualify and if they fancy doing me a favour, Young Boys too.

'PARK THE BUS' a simple instruction for the Young Boys which if its deployed well will result in a win for YB...saying that i see a spurs win.

I hope Spurs go through.

That said, I will have trouble containing my laughter if they actually fail :p

LOL as much as i loathe saying i want the Spuds to win, they should win pretty easily...if they dont then ill be rolling on the floor laughing:p

I hope Spurs do well, to annoy my dad more than anything else. Gutted Sampdoria didn't make it last night, wanted them to make it through.

Ill second the OP in that the Braga result was some result, cracking match to watch as well!
