The only remote reason I can think for the red card is the ref thinking that the guy is the last man.

Well that's that one match ruined by the referee and we're only one game in, shame as well because he was quite leniant to start with.

I'm not sure every game will be refereed to this standard. Isn't it traditional to ensure the hosts have a good tournament?
