I think the UHD encoding is messed up. Too much smearing. I've gone back to HD, it's softer but less smearing and looks better once you get to the highest HD bitrate.

It's the same for me on HD via Virgin or UHD via iPlayer, just those pitchside cameras, everything else is fine
