Tbf we kind of are. He wanted to stay but our contract offer was too short/not enough money. It's been discussed for the last year, at 30 it was his last chance of a big pay day and it's difficult to justify handing that to somebody that will turn 31 a couple of months into the season and could be 35 before his contract was up. Paying big money to Gini at 30-31 is fine but at 33+ is a gamble.
I know he played a different role for us but his goals record for Holland is mad compared to his record for us.
