England fans are a proper weird bunch Purds. I'm ashamed to say I was a regular at Wembley years ago - it's a mix of family's with painted faces and mexican waves, and yobs. There's literally no in between, myself excluded obviously.Scum booing Gomez, horrific fans

Probably a mix of people. City fans, evertonians, sterling fan boys, idiots, drunk idiots and then just plain old racists.I was surprised there were enough Man City fans to even make the noise herd!

Apparently he even went to Southgate and asked that Sterling be allowed to stay and not be sent home as Gareth initially wanted to do.Other than the original story (which I'm sure was leaked by Sterling's agent) that claimed the pair clashed etc, all the media coverage I've seen has been very fair on Gomes. They've all commented on how he was completely blameless and how well he's handled himself since. Unfortunately too many people ignore these sorts of things and just make their own version of events up after reading a headline.
Wait....so Gomes gets assaulted by a team mate and he gets dropped?
They've already sorted the issue out, Sterling made that pretty clear with his "statement". The problem is that the media appear to be putting blame on Southgate and Gomes as apposed to Sterling.
Why are you pretty sure he did? Everybody that's commented on what's gone on have said Gomes done absolutely nothing wrong, including Southgate and Sterling himself. The version of events doing the rounds in the press is that Gomes went around shaking everyone's hand when he arrived and that Sterling flipped and grabbed him by the neck - the 'defence' of Sterling being that he was wound up by all the **** on social media he was getting as a result Gomes embarrassing him at Anfield. To attempt to put any blame on Gomes when there's not a single bit of evidence to support it is both silly and desperate.I am pretty sure he wound him up and pushed his buttons. I am pretty sure you don't go fighting someone for no reason. I am not defending sterling. He deserves a ban as kids follow him/set an example etc but to make it sound like Gomes is squeaky clean just seems silly.

I don't think anybody has denied they had words at Anfield, as you say it was clear for everybody to see. What happened on England duty is what's been debated and I can't for the life of me understand why you're so sure Gomes has done anything when all the reports have said he done nothing and that's been confirmed by Sterling and Southgate. They were mouthing each other in the league game I saw that clear as day. I guess it just went over the line when they met up for international duties.
