Well Trent can't defend so playing him at RB in a Southgate team is a little unlikely. Hes not a midfielder in any way however.

He absolutely didn't give it away more. He wasn't great in the last game either but we weren't talking about him.

yeah, he's only won nigh on everything at club level, not bad for someone who 'can't defend'.. Klopp wouldn't change him for world, Guardiola would give his left nut to have him and real madrid will probably be stepping up their pursuit in the next year or so.. but sure, cant defend

I mean, he can't. Hes not in that Liverpool team for his defensive prowess.
I don’t know why the last decade+ we’ve tried out a lot of players then always select the same ones. May as well play a mostly stable team and philosophy.

Regardless he can't play midfield.

Presumably because the players are actually good, it's the manager that seems to be the issue.
I don't particularly follow football, but honestly the team looks like what would happen if I played football manager. "They've all got 90+ stats, let's play them" (regardless of me picking the wrong positions or formation for them)
