Lee Carsley asking Ten Hag for defensive tips?
Centre of the park is a huge problem for me. Rice seems stuck in their on his own and he just isn't good enough to do that. Foden, Bellingham and Palmer just wander off anywhere so there's just so much space in there for teams to walk through on goalBut that always seems to be the case for England
He did it for Arsenal quite a few times last season when Partey was injured. Did quite well then against better opposition although it probably helps having a decent defence behind you.Centre of the park is a huge problem for me. All we’ve done is replace an inexperienced manager with another amateur.I'm glad Greece one because Carsley isn't of sufficient calibre to manage England, but that was a penalty against Madueke.
I think you can play them just not in this system and not necessarily exactly how and where they would like to play. They need a system and defined roles within it for me what is really a challenge is getting Foden, Saka and Palmer in the same team maybe we should play 4-2-3-1 with Bellingham alongside rice in a deeper role and the other three behind Kane as an out and out target man?Wonder how long it will take an england manager to realise you cant play Bellingham, Foden and Palmer in the same team.. its Gerrard/Lampard/Scholes all over again
Yeh was reading Rio Ferdinand's Twitter after the gameOther teams seem to manage to get the most out of their best players and be able to play them in the same team apart from England. That's the difference between winning and losing in a major tournament. We just always fall short. These are the best players in England right now and are so called world class, so there is no reason why they can't play together. Just because they playing out of position doesn't mean they end up playing like school kids. Every England player on the pitch had no idea what they were doing. I guess they are not world class after all.
Exactly, no pride and passion. How many times have we seen this from England? It's only the Nations League, but when you put an England shirt on your back you should be giving it your all. I don't see that from the players. I suppose it's just another day at the office for them.Yeh was reading Rio Ferdinand's Twitter after the game
Mentioned a few things lastly saying one team looked like they wanted to play for their country and one did not.
Hard to fix that sort of thing...
Agreed, he was the best player for England, but that wasn't very hard to achieve.Bellingham looked like the only that cared.
Regularly chasing down the ball when it was passed back to the keeper, pulling his socks up, tucking his shirt in and trying to get the crowd going. All small things but they all add up, I'd give him the captaincy now tbh.
Yeh he took ownership.Agreed, he was the best player for England, but that wasn't very hard to achieve.
Yeah, I noticed he was sweating like crazy. Stones didn't have a drop on himYeh he took ownership.
Every-time the camera panned in he was sweating like a mad man.
And of course, scored.
