The team he picked last night was just diabolical. Both Shaw and Maguire shouldn't have even got a look in. You also had at least 4 players playing out of position to where they normally play. In my opinion a decent national manager should supplement a style that is similar to what the players use at club level and fit in with that as they just do not have the time to teach them something completely new. You look at the German team of 2014 or the Spanish team of 2010.

For me I would have played

Ramsdale

Walker,Stones,Tomori,Kyle Walker-Peters

Bellingham,Rice
Foden

Sancho,Kane,Saka

Stones was banned...

Id you're playing a back 5 you play the lad whos world class going forward. That isnt Walker.
 
Southgate is a dreadful joke of a manager. Always has been.

If the FA had any sense they’d get rid of him now and find someone better. There’s more than enough time.
