Agreeing with what Azuse has said, they have been around for quite some time now, just not court on at all with the motherboard makers.. there has been a handful of boards with them, but that was about it
So they are already out there but in no great numbers, do they overclock like normal boards or can you overclock whilst running the OS (effectively that is)
It has been tested by Gigbayte, ASUS and MSi -- all were failed so start again to test the new one to see if it work ok or not.. yes it may come up in 2011 but think it may push forward to 2012 or later if the test still fail but if it pass then need some work to do before it ready to build new motherboard and then sell it
I don't know what that bbc article is on about, it says that the bios takes 20-30s before the os can begin to start up. My current board is around 5-6s and I don't remember my old motherboards being much slower.
Though I'm tempted to agree with jak to an extent, my pc takes about 25-30 seconds to boot I think and bios is probably 10 seconds worth? Though that's a big guess, don't tend to time it and computer is usually in sleep so boot up is the time it takes for the monitor to turn on, about 2 seconds
They do seem to have some good reviews but I'd like to hear someone tell me about how much quicker they are before I buy one.
If I do go for one it will be one of these; DP43TF, DG43NB, DG45ID, DG41RQ
They've been available in limited numbers for a year or so. However from what I read, the implementation isn't that great. Overclocking is a no no, and there are compatability issues.

From pressing the power button until windows begins to load up? Mine is at least 20 seconds with 12GB of RAM (not sure if that makes a difference now days).
