Well, UFC 101 Declaration is live on Saturday night and the fairly strong card looks like;
MAIN CARD
* Champ B.J. Penn vs. Kenny Florian (for UFC lightweight title)
* Champ Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin (non-title fight)
* Johny Hendricks vs. Amir Sadollah
* Ricardo Almeida vs. Kendall Grove
* Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellgrino
PRELIMINARY CARD
* Shane Nelson vs. Aaron Riley
* John Howard vs. Tamdan McCrory
* Thales Leites vs. Alessio Sakara
* Dan Cramer vs. Matthew Riddle
* George Roop vs. George Sotiropoulos
* Jesse Lennox vs. Danillo Villefort
Picks in bold as per usual!
I really feel Kenflo has a good chance of taking the belt off BJ. He has improved so much in the past 2/3 years in all aspects. Has the BJJ, the Muay Thai and the striking game to really trouble 'The Prodigy'. However, I still feel BJ will just edge it as he's naturally more gifted than Kenny in most areas. Providing BJ doesn't gas I see him taking a close victory, maybe via TKO late in the 4th, or via a decision.
It would be too easy to pick Anderson Silva for his fight against Forrest. Forrest is almost a 3/1 underdog and i'm seriously considering a flutter. Not only will he have the stamina to go 3 full rounds, all out, he should also be significantly bigger and stronger than Anderson. Providing he doesn't get torn apart on the feet (Which of course there's a very good chance he will be!) I feel Forrest has a decent chance of keeping a high pace and sneeking out a decision, certainly much better than the odds give him credit.
Other than the 2 main fights, should be interesting to see what Amir Sadolah can bring to the Octagon considering he's done nothing but injure himself for the past, what, 18 months? Also looking out for Tamdon McCrory, I feel he's one for the future for sure.
All in all this event has a lot to live up to after UFC100, but i'm hoping it should be a good show
