UFC 101 Declaration **SPOILERS**

I won't criticize The Spider again, that was superb and he really is going to take some shifting now, he just took Forrest apart, very impressed.

I still won't say he's the best, pound for pound, as GSP is as dominant and Fedor hasn't lost for years, but it's between those three, or Miguel Torres as well I suppose.

WOW, Griffin sorta ran away after the fight lol, that was pretty embarrassing. Anderson Silva just toyed with Griffin, he could have ended it anytime he wanted, one of the most dominant things i have seen in the UFC. You were right Kev it wasnt boring at least XD

Good finish by Penn, just waiting for Florian to move his arm and locked in within a second to choke him out. He looked in the best shape that I've ever seen him as well.

Fedor hasn't fought anyone credible in years and clearly doesn't want to, hopefully we will get Anderson Vs GSP or Anderson Vs Machida.

I started to like Anderson when he made that funny face when the crowd was booing him before the fight (does anyone have a GIF of this?)

Then he let Forrest back up which was nice of him, I like him a lot now, he even offered him a hand up before that ridiculous knock out.

Penn wasn't just waiting for Florian to move the his arm, he was landing devastating heel kicks to to Florians stomach forcing him to defend against them with his hand.

He looked in the best shape that I've ever seen him as well.

LOL NOT DIFFICULT AM I RITE? :p

Was Forrest injured or something going into that fight? Seemed heavy and slow or did that left hook really stun him before that jab finished him off?

Well i was expecting Silva to win but that was something else. Completely destroyed him, the ease with which he dropped him was almost embarrassing to watch.

Penn looked pretty good, in control the whole fight and just stepped it up a level to finish it. He was comfortable throughout the whole fight.

That was a good event, the Silva fight was amazing. He just toyed with him the whole way through, the dodging before the second knockdown was one of the most impressive things I have seen in the UFC. However what are people's reaction to the final knockdown of Griffin, it looked to me liek he waved his hands to say no more. Or was that to defend himself against possible further attacks? (seen in the last gif)

I would love to see GSP/Machida vs Silva :D

Edit:- Not the face, but still pretty awesome.

Watching it, I got the impression that he'd had enough and was calling an end to the fight. Have seen a few reports today that say he got his jaw dislocated and had hearing problems so wouldn't want to continue. Also the same reason given for his hasty exit.

I like Forrest a lot so hoping he comes back well although that's bound to be such a huge confidence hurter, there's other fighters I'd rather see that happen to than him. Silva was definately in a class of his own though, I really wasn't expecting him to make it look so easy.

Having just finished watching this.. two things stand out for me..

Who is gonna stop Silva?

Since hes fighting at 205.. that would mean a possible matchup with Machida.. who i think might trouble him.. but tbh.. I cant see anyone stopping him.

The way he played with Forest was amazing.. and one of the most entertaining things i have seen over many years of watching mma.

How quick was Penns pulling in of the rear naked?!?
The heel kicks were clearly a distraction.. but **** me.. that was lightening fast.

Amazing.

Every now and again i get slightly bored with UFC.. as I did a little tonight.. but the headliners pulled it back out the bag for me :)

Silva has always stated he will not fight Machida, they have trained together for a long time. He also stated he is a small 205 and Machida has the style to beat him anyway.

I think Hendo may be able to do it if he can get him down and pound him out, I don't know why everyone stands with him.

BJ Penn is a beast now he has the cardio to match his skill.

Not the best event for me. The Pelegrino/Neer and Grove/Almedia fights were classic examples of styles making for fights, in this case bad ones. 2 dominant top players against guys with mediocre ground games = not the best. Granted Neer looked busy, but Peligrino was far too commanding.

Silva looked as dominant as ever, his striking is just so accurate and deadly. I really thought Forrest had a chance but he simply got owned. Anyone who is going to chase Silva down on the feet like that is going to have a hard time. The only style of fighter who stands a chance is someone with a granite chin, with an excellent wrestling game. Personally, Dan Henderson is the only man to fit the bill @ 185. Machida @ 205 is another, as he is similar to Silva in the striking department, but I doubt we'll ever see that fight.

If GSP could bulk up properly I feel he could get him to the ground and do some serious damange, but I just can't see why he would take the chance given that the height/size difference instantly puts him at a disadvantage.

BJ looked good tonight, his ground game is simply superb. Hard knock for Kenny, who is going to have to bounce back again. Penn Vs Sanchez next up hopefully, what a fight that would be.

Oh and on a final note, how bad is Dan Mirigliata? He HAS to be the worst ref i've ever seen in MMA. Appauling stoppage in the Sadolah fight, not for the first time ending early. Quite how he manages to keep getting the job in reffing main card events is beyond me.

In no way did I feel Forest could rival Anderson. Machida versus Anderson is something I'd love to see.

I actually thought 101 was one of the worst UFC's in a while. Nothing really to do with the card but each fight never even came close to the promise I had hoped for. BY far the worse UFC of late.

He's made **** up after **** up, there are about 20 gifs out there with him doing something stupid.

Anderson v Machida will not happen unless a LOT of cash is on the table. They are good pals and training partners and Anderson has said before that he won't take this fight. They also share the same manager who is highly unlikely to put his two top fighters together.

Stunning stuff from Anderson and a great win from Penn as well.

Anyone see the main Bowles v Torres fight from WEC last night -:eek::eek:

I think the problem with Forrests offense was that he was completely straight line with all of them. After he does a slow jab cross for the fifth time with his head coming straight forward then it is childs play for someone as accurate as Silva to pop him on the chin.

I think that Silva is great to watch but he is a bit of a show off and some of his reactions to the boos reeked off arrogance.

That being said, I disagree with all the people booing, probably because I can appreciate awesome defence whereas a bunch of drunks in the arena cannot.
