UFC 126 Thread

im all for woman's football, but women's mma is just wrong.

its comparable to children's mma or children's boxing, i saw a video on youtube i think it was where a father was screaming at his 6 year old to smash another 6 year old's skull in, sickening.

Yeah, there is the full complement of TV coverage for 126 including the Countdown Show, MMA Live at UFC 126 (at 1am Sunday), the Prelims (at 2am Sunday) and MMA Live Post Fight Extra (at 1am on Monday). Plus the weigh-ins live on ufc.com on Friday :)

I don't like womens MMA but I disagree, it's nothing like children's mma or boxing.

They are grown people who are making a concious decision to take part they are in charge of their own decision, sometimes children are not.

There are also some very skilled women MMA fighters, unfortunately none of the weight classes are deep enough to showcase this really.

This is a pretty good card for me, better than a lot of recent events.

I'm going for:

Silva
Franklin
Jones
Torres
Ellenberger

Thanks for the heads up, only just noticed this, can get myself prepped for the all nighter to watch it all hehe.

oh and silva for the main event win, the rest im not so sure so ill just enjoy the fights.

Will miss this unfortunately. :(

I'd stick my neck out and put my money on Silva if I'm being honest. Although it would be nice to see Belfort do it.

So much tension at the weigh in!

Whoever wins the main I'm excited for it, I want Belfort to win but if Anderson takes it I'm not going to be upset haha, like them both.

Frankling and Griffin sound like they are just going to smash each other to pieces just for the fun of it. Awesome.

Looking forward to the Silva fight. Two fighters that end fights in the early stages. Should be interesting. My money is on Silva. Still can't believe Belfort is only 33, seems like he has been around since the very start of the ufc.

I think Jon Jones and Bader could be the fight of the night. Two future main eventers and bother are undefeated (hammil fight wasn't a proper loss) . Anyone else think Jon Jones is a lot like Anderson Silva? Looks the same, can do crazy kicks and just as fast, if not faster.

Interesting fact Silva's last two fights have both gone to the 5th round while Vitor's last two fights have both ended in the first.

Of his last 5, 2 were the most boring fights I've ever seen (Leites and Maia), one was going to go on to be the most boring before Cote injured himself. The only excitement Anderson has brought in the last 5 fights was a KO against a bumbling Forrest Griffin. One things for certain, form is definitely not on his side :)

However, of Vitors last 3 fights, he has only really beaten one notable opponent in Rich Franklin. Matt Lindland is a punch drunken old wrestler; if you want any more evidence look at Lawlers decimation of him in the 2nd to last strikeforce, and Terry Martin is just .. no.

Its hard to read a win from the form book, again, thats why this is going to be so entertaining and intriguing.

Another thing about this fight is that both are Brazilian. The last two Brazilian fighters Silva fought went to the 5th and a Decision. Silva has mainly fought American fighters in the UFC.

I think Silva's Muay Thai will be too much for Belfort who is mainly a striker. If Silva can get Belfort on the ground, its going to be the Silva show. Saying that, Belfort doesn't need too much chances to KO someone.

Who knows. Being a Silva fan, I think he'll win by submission.

I thought Silva was taken right to the wire by Chael Sonnen back at 117. Wasn't it the one of the only times, after 4 rounds, that the champion retained his title despite being down on points on all the judges scorecards? He weathered it and pulled a triangle out of nowhere I suppose but the fight could have gone either way.

Didn't chael sonnen get banned after that fight though for steroids ? So he lost the fight and he took drugs...lol

I think silva is gona win, am a big fan of his, and I reckon hes gona chop away at belforts legs in first few rounds and by end rounds the guy will hardly be able to walk.

He is a fighter, fighters like to test themselves. Beating the people whom you have already beaten is not testing yourself and is not interesting, you saw what happens when he fights people he completely outclasses, he turns into mess around and annoy the fans Silva.

At 205 there are many tests for him, lots of big wrestlers which from what we have seen from Sonnen is probably the best way to deal with Silva, until you gift him a triangle :/ Sonnen really needs to work on that has like 6 taps to triangles lol.

New fighters come along all the time, so I reckon if he stays put, new challanges will arise.
