UFC 126 Thread

Anderson has landed that front kick before, but it's never landed as cleanly as that! Was truely awesome to see. Who is next for Anderson? GSP hopefully, assuming he beats Shields.

Pretty poor ppv. Wish the Silva/Belfort went for a few rounds but that kick was insane! It came from no where. When he threw it, you expect the other guy to just step back or block it. It was a rub your eyes moment. wow.

Not a bad set of fights but not the best. I was hoping the Anderson fight would go on a bit longer.
Forrest v Franklin wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be.

Title shot for Jones! Gonna be an epic fight!

Isnt Jones at the end of his current contract with the UFC atm?? If he is, this is a nice way to make sure he re-signs! ;)

Not saying he wont do well (in fact I think he's got a great chance of beating Shogun) but he's not exactly the number 1 contender is he!!

I agree, it wasn't a poor event at all, but it just didn't excite me all that much was hoping for more.

I think Shogun is going to be to much for Jones, his striking is on a complete different level to anyone Jones has faced, he has KO power and if Jones puts him on his back he has a really decent jits game, not that you see it often he enjoys knocking fools out too much.

Gotta agree Dex, although has he fought anyone with wrestling skills as good as Jones? Bear in mind he destroyed Bader so much he had him shooting in from 3 metres towards the end.

Rua has fought Randleman, Mark Coleman (x2) and Ubereem (x2), not to mention Nog; they all have a good ground game but I wouldnt put them in the JJ wrestling calibre (bear in mind Coleman was like 15 years past his wrestling best when they fought! :) ). Either way its going to be a cracker.

silva won like i said he would, he is the best p4p fighter on the planet. dana said something crazy 2 months ago, like silva could defeat any middleweight at anything, boxing, mma, tiddlywinks. lol. its probably true though.

griffin only has leg kicks and cardio and a bit of ground game in his arsenal. he is nowhere near the top. bader and jones are both young and hungry. jones probably could have done with 2-3 more fights before a title shot, but i dont really see anyone else in the division apart from rashad evans, rampage and machida.

rampage is a dangerous head hunter, rashad is injured, therefore machida would have been the best next fight for him, since machida is in a slump, then rampage, then evans, then a title shot.

i dont see many contenders anywhere near silva's level. i think jones would be a good matchup for him because hes fast and strong. st pierre would get owned, silva is a stronger, more well rounded/experienced version of him. i think the only way to beat silva is on the ground. i dont see anyone knocking him out anytime soon. but i dont see anyone with a good enough stand up to get the fight to the ground, then a good enough ground game to submit him.

what we need is a big wrestler like bader/lesnar/sonnen with the jiu jitsu skill of a high level world champion black belt. if jones works on his jiu jitsu, it would be a great match. wonder if he could cut that much weight.

GSP would beat him it would be a boring ground and pound but he would do it, I rate GSP much much higher than Chael Sonnen and he beat Silva round the ring for 4 and a half rounds before getting submitted in the last minutes
