UFC 77 – Hostile Territory

I don't gamble :P

Tank probably would not even pass the health test to enter the UFC again, he fought on Cage Rage but he won't be a competitor in UFC ever again.

Anyone seen butterbean fight in CR? lol, was quite funny every time he fell down he just could not get back up, sad in a sense as well.

It was Gary 'smiler' Turner that Tank was fighting with in Cage Rage. He's a Brit that was in K-1 for a while, not really an mma guy at all tbh.

If I was Gambling i'd pick Vera, A.Silva, Bonnar, Okami, Starnes, Gurgel, Jensen, Burkman & Black for the win.

Jason MacDonald Vs. Yushin Okami is on the undercard thats a bit lame :(

I want Franklin to win.....but I think Anderson is just one mean son of a bean!

Also want Tim 'The Maniac' Silvia :p to win!!!

After all we need a half decent heavyweight division since couture left

WAR Anderson. What a performance. Kinda upset at the Vera match, expected much better from the guy. Still, a very watchable card over all.

Average enough event. I bet some of the undercards were more entertaining. Not much to talk about really.

Silva had very little to do against Franklin as Franklin seemed to fall apart with ease. Not sure how on earth he will ever make it back to the big time with Silva there, maybe jump divisions.

Tim Sylvia was his usual boring crappy self and lay against the cage for a good part of the fight. Vera and his broken hand could do nothing and maybe if he hadn't broke his hand, the fight may have been different.

Anyhow the only real major thing to talk about is the signing of Brock Lesnar. Thats the biggest addition to the UFC and to the much needed heavyweight division since we heard Pride had been taken over by the UFC.

Brock will walk his way to a title shot in no time and I would love to see Brock take on Sylvia in Sylvia's next fight. There is no better wrestler in the UFC than Brock at the minute and the guy is such a lightning quick powerhouse.

He stormed to victory in his MMA debut also.

Still remember his WWE debut. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg2hsNU8uRg

Anderson Silva looked pretty awesome as usual, never looked in any trouble even after eating a nice right hander. His elbows and knees are absolutely superb and i can't see anyone beating him bar a fluke knockout at the moment.

Vera .... -.- This guy had more to give I think it was the height that worried him and let Silvia take it.

Just what I expected from Anderson, what a demolishion!

why dont they have a HeavyWeight Tournament to settle the Vacant belt?

surely that would liven things up a bit?>

That would be a good idea if they could get it together cause I would hate to see the likes of Sylvia get the spot to fight for it back.

The heavyweight decision is weak and needs something to shake it up abit. I know Brock Lesnar is a big addition but a tournament would bring some excitment.

Yea it would add excitement, and they could do it over 3 events or so, like Pride, Final Confict, Critical Countdown, etc...

would make a nice undercurrent for the UFC shows which i think are all too separate, sporadic and distant and therefore alienating the viewer from the fighters as you hardly see any of them. he best ones get wheeled out like what, 3 times a year?

get them all in the ring and lets see who can make themselves a heroe?

Oh well, 3 out of 4 predictions ain't bad :D

I have no idea who they can put against Silva now... they need to buy in some proper talent, and fast!

Anderson Silva is the kind if guy you have nightmares about fighting, stays so calm and just lands shots like he isn't even trying, if you slip up once then you eat a few knees and start seeing stars!

Can't believe the guy in one of the 1st fights (can't think of his name), the ref stopped the fight due to a cut that the Doctor said he could see his skull  that looked nasty!

Oh god, that cut, was just disgusting , made me cringe at the site of it!

Thought the refing was poor tonight. In the 2nd Televised fight it was painful to watch Jorge Gurgel (I think) get his face battered off him. I think the ref should have stopped it. Regarding Silva v Franklin, Silva is awesome but it was obvious that Franklin was hurt at the end of the 1st. It should have been stopped there as Silva could have done him some serious damage!
