UFO: Enemy Unknown

UFO was great, i recently resurrected it to play on a lappy with intergrated gfx. I first owned this on the Amiga :p

TFTD was great again, but i preferrd the first one.

Apocolypse was brill, but i just cant get into it again, keep going back to EU

How odd iv been playing this non stop for nearly 2 weeks now! :D Got my Psi Solders mind controlling etherals, blaster launchers :D, awesome. EU is great managed to finish it on medium settings :O, so difficult, not as difficult as TFTD though, could never finish it, is there a way of fixing that ? the research bug

UFO ET looks awesome! hopefully its near enough a total remake of EU, as in exactly same with new graphics would be awesome :D

A great way to play the game is never to allow yourself to save during battles. Even on easy it makes things much harder, and you tend to play a lot more tactically.

Makes you really worried about loosing skyrangers too, a couple of missions I've had a single guy left, trying to make it back to the transport while carrying an unconscious soldier and using smoke grenades to cover his retreat.

Never had any trouble with the research bug when I played TFTD. I have completed it several times with all the best kit.

For me UFO Apocolypse was the best. The realtime aspect of it was really good.

You all keep mentioning this but I never played it - is it worth having a look at after I finish Enemy Unknown, or is it pretty much the same?

Awesome game - late night sessions were the perfect partner for Xcom. I loved the PS1 version purely for the awesome CD quality remixed soundtracks (which are now on my hard drive). The PS1 version currently swaps hands on ebay for around £40 :)

UFO was a pure classic game, no 2 ways about it. Even now it still holds up as one of the best turn based strategy games in the world for me. Even better was the manual.

"It is the year 1999, and Aliens have invaded the earth" :p
