BMW have just released their new 'flagship' electric vehicle. Behold. The new BMW iX.

It's not great, but I don't think it would be quite so bad if you painted it in a colour that anyone with the slightest modicum of taste would spec a car in.

The only positive I can offer is the rear lights look good, similar to the 8 series.

The flanks have something of a London Taxi about them.

I hope Frank Stephenson reviews it:

If it was all black it would be very non-descript.

It is almost a good looking car then a few things completely undo it... that grill looks like a retarded fish trying to blow a kiss - once you see it you can't un-see it.

I never get why with things like this someone hasn't at some stage stood back and gone actually we need to go back tweak a few things.

EDIT: Just seen the variant in orange... what on earth are they thinking.

The interior looks even worse. Like my parents lounge from the 1970's - is that an ash tray or the iDrive controller :p

This. The closest I’ve come to buying an electric car was a Mini Electric in February (COVID put an end to that, what with only commuting once a week at most), and that only won due to its “normal” appearance.

The majority of electric cars on the market look like concept cars for the road and I don't really understand why.

I want one that you don't even know is electric just by looking at it.
