My wife is nuts about Xmas. To a point where she killed it for me because she'd start in bloody July with rubbing i in my face and asking me questions. Yes, that nuts.

This year her Xmas spirit is gone, mainly due to the fact that I told her off for banging on about it for 5 months of the year.

I'm trying to get her Xmas spirit back and I'm slowly winning but today something terrible happened. She got me a gift which has just been delivered. She's at work, I'm at home. Now I have received it and signed for it, but the problem is that it's not wrapped, so I can see by the box what it is. I know she's been very excited about this one so I can't let her find out that I know what it is.

What do I do? I just went to a neighbour to see if he could hold on to it for me until 8pm or so when I'll conveniently be in the bath and he could drop it off, but he's not there.

Any ideas? What can I do? She can not, under any circumstances know that I know what it is. Winning suggestion gets carte blanche as to what it is :p
 
She will probably wonder where it is anyway and check the tracking. She will see your signature and boom you're caught out for being a liar. I don't know which is worse.

Put it in the hallway with the side which shows you what it is, down. Feign ignorance and lack of interest telling her you signed for it in a hurry as you were watching/doing/playing something.
 
Throw it over your side gate/back garden/ in the wheelybin or wherever, and mock up a note from the courier saying where it is. Then leave the house until after she gets in.

But seriously, just tell her how brilliant the present is (you had no way of knowing is wasn't going to be wrapped!) and say Xmas has started early so the "Bank of Diddums" owes her 1 present and go shopping with her tomorrow to even it up!

If she tracks the parcel - she will know you signed for it!

Try and find/ buy a brown (amazon type) packaging box and put it in there and tape the delivery details or write delivery details on the front. She will never know it arrived exposed.
 
Well if she likes Christmas that much open the present keep it and then deny all knowledge as it would be impossible for you to have got it now because Santa doesn't do deliveries for another 40 days.
 
Get a new a wife before christmas...Keep the gift though.
Or just give it to your neighbour and get them to give to pretend that the delivery man left it with them
