It is different, HDR10+ is more akin to Dolby Vision in that it can use dynamic metadata whereas HDR10 is static metadata.

Yeah most articles I stumbled across suggest the PS5 doesn't support HDR10+ or Dolby Vision.

Still, I'd have hoped the new consoles would support these so that's a shame.

The Xbox supports Dolby Vision for gaming but not Blu-ray playback

The cynic in me suspects that they may be omitted from PS5/XSX to give an easy feature bump for the mid life refresh consoles, drive a few more upgrade sales.

For any late-comers to the thread, like me, I've just bought the UB820. Great player for the money, looks fantastic with 4K media on a Sony A80J.
