UK 8-ball pool rules

If it's just the black on the table it's still a free table, as you can hit whatever ball you want since only the black is on the table ;).

I think you might have meant that you only get one shot when both players are on the black?

If the black is just on the table, then you can hit no other ball...?

Free table exists when there are colours on the table, if no colours, no free table.

YOU HAVE LOST ME :D

No, it does!

If theres no red or yellows on the table and the opponent pots the white, you get ONE shot on the black!

You didnt mention anything about getting one shot, which is why i said you might have meant that ;)

You only mentioned being able to hit anything with your first free shot, which to me atleast read as getting 2 shots still :).

Yes, you do. Aslong as theres colours on the table DAMN YOU INFIDEL!

:D

Ye then you enforce your own rules on them, don't play fanny rules !

I usually play the rules that Virtual Pool Hall had!

Saying that I usually play 9 ball or US 8 ball.

Official UK 8 Ball rules:

If cue ball is potted it's 2 shots from behind the line, you can then hit the cue ball in any direction. Unless the cue ball is potted from the brake then it's only 1 shot from behind the line. Cue ball off the table thou on a brake is still 2 shots. You can never replace a ball.

Remember thou to always hit a cushion after you've hit the object ball, unless you've potted a ball, otherwise it's 2 shots. (except in a total snooker situation) This is the most unknown rule by all non-league players. People always think it's stupid until they have played it for a while, but it's a very good rule!!

Black ball counts as any other rule, there has never been in the history of UK pool a rule that said you only get 1 shot on the black in a foul situation.

nine ball is a joke you can miss by two to three inches and it goes in :(

2 shot carry on was for old days when the tables had very narrow bags and were harder to pot on than the super league tables now in pubs / snooker halls .

on old tables you can roll a ball dead straight and one little knick of the jaw and it dont go in .

world rules were brought in with the newer tables and time limits on shots to make it more exciting quicker and better to spectate.ive played single frame games in matches that have took up to 2 hrs in old fudge rules.

on new tables can just mince in 8 balls one after another of the break :D few of my mates play/played for england in womens and mens. can hold my own against them but you have to play out of your skin to have a chance.

my younger bro is right up there at moment got one of best averages for superleague in notts.hopefully when the nab can be bothered he might go all the way. lazy git .

Colours are red and yellow, black is black. There is only one black. It is not considered a colour in that sense :p

If your wondering what free table is? It says above, if you get two shots your first shot is free (can hit any ball, but must hit A ball or its two shots to them).

Yea I know what free table is, i'm a regular player, it just confused me, how can you have a free table with just the black...
