UK Airport Parking

I prefer Hotel and airport parking. A bit costly but you can’t beat the Sofitel at Heathrow

Travel the afternoon before, no fear of traffic delaying your arrival on the day, no getting up extra early for the journey and a walk over to departures.

Last time we flew at around 9:30am we even managed to check our bags in at 6pm the evening before so it was head straight for security on the morning

Never considered Hotel parking.

So can I stay there 1 night then leave the car there for 2 weeks or 3 months? All the price included in the room?

It's a good point... I Usualy fly out of Leeds or mostly Manchester.. But the last few times at Manchester has cost me just over a hundred quid.. It's actually getting to the point where a pre-booked taxi is not much more expensive if I factor in my fuel cost there and back aswell.

Train is still the winner on cost as they have a train station in the airport, but the trains are too unreliable to risk it.

I will have to remember that....I average paying like £120-200 parking each time....about the price for 1 night I guess?
Just did a quick quote, 1night stay and 14 days parking £225

With Sofitel, they guarantee going direct with them is cheaper than an agent, if you find cheaper through one they’ll knock 20% off that price

The experience of walking through into Heathrow is hard to beat, you keep your keys on you, they validate the exit card the night you stay, when returning from holiday it’s walk to the car and drive off

We have just used Heathrow Airparker (Money Supermarket recommendation and discount) who picked up and returned the car from Terminal 3
15 days cost us £142.79 + short stay charge of £15 (we also got £2.50 off this because the driver used the drop-off point to pick us up)
Very happy with the service

For ones like Manchester it's always better to use the train if you can. It goes right to the airport and you avoid the nightmare cowboy parking companies and just need to add a taxi back home or something like that. And that's as someone that prefers to drive to most places

I normally use Purple Parking for Manchester Airport and generally park in the ring park off site parking. Never had an issue and the buses are every 15 mins 247. A week is typically £60-70 which is OK but not dirt cheap. Once used the T3 multistorey which was fine but not easy to find a space.

That's what I do, zero hassle, self park so no strangers using your car - sometimes it's cheaper to book jetparks through the manchester airport website, theres 3 massive car parks, ringway, Jetparks 2 and jetparks 3, I think they are all the same outfit though, spacess re-sold through various re-sellers.. I think you can book them through Ryanair aswell, when buying you plane tickets.
I always shop around a bit, usually about £90-£110 for just over 2 weeks for me.

I used to get the train but I'm the other side of the pennines and I just don't trust transpennine and northern rail enough these days.. as I commute on them, I know how sketchy they can be with delays and cancelled services, not worth the risk, IMO.. plus if you have an early morning flight out, or a late flight back in, no trains running/too much risk to have to rely on one train service/no chance of catching then next one as there may not be a next one... so I'm then looking at about an extra hundred quid-ish in a hotel and an extra day off work, or £100 plus in a taxi.

Nope!

Wish I see this thread earlier, 11 days parking in heathrow park and ride cost me £123.

I personally thought that price was quite reasonable.

The last 5 times I've flown from Manchester this year I've just the Just Park app and parked on someone's drive. Saved a ton of cash compared to the official places (£20 compared to £40/50). Just a 25 min walk to the terminal. But, I've only got a carry on bag over my shoulder, and not got a family with tons of luggage, and I don't mind a walk, and my car is worth £2k.

Just my input. But yeah, I can only comment on Manchester, and I have specific circumstances :)
Having said this, it is slightly annoying when your booking gets cancelled on the morning of your flight :D

Being from Preston, I try flying from Liverpool as parking is closer to the airport and cheaper - as long as the flight is going where I need to go. Flying from Manchester I usually end up in Jet Parks 3/Ringway which can add an extra 15-60 minutes depending on how bad the traffic is/idiots holding up the bus. Both usually booked using the airports official parking, as ever book massively in advance for the best discounts. I fly mainly for work and when they leave the booking until last minute the parking charges in summer are hefty. Next year end of May peak school holiday time booked a year in advance - £62.99 for Drop and Go (pay the extra for fasttrack security as Manchester security is terrible for the most part).

Used to use the meet and greet parking at Manchester but not been impressed with the service last few times, plus had some damage and litter left in car.

Another time they could not find our car. Had to wait over an hour despite confirming flight times etc in advance.

Typically use the multistorey, spaces decent size, quick in and out when pre-booked etc.

Or taxi it, but only our trusted firms. The UK at airport taxis seem the most expensive in the world often. And that's comparing to NYC, Vegas, many a city in Europe.
