Is there a company in the UK that will anodise (or whatever colorware do) macbooks?

It's almost new laptop time and if there is a refresh of the 13" MBP soon (no idea) so they stick a better screen in I'd be tempted if I could get it in any colour but boring silver...

Colorware paint their items. Any place that can do paint spraying should be able to do it.
However it's the getting the aluminium parts ready without breaking the mac that will be the hardest part. The screen in particular.

I wouldn't bother, it will cost a fortune and will not last. Plus void the warranty and put the parts at risk of breaking. If you really want to do it go with Colorware as they warranty the computer.

I guess it wasn't too clear, I didn't mean just any old sprayer but a company I could buy a precoloured macbook from and have a warrenty with. The extra cost of buying a colorware laptop would only be the beginning. Once adding import tax and any hassle and cost if anything went wrong under warranty it is just too high a cost. A UK based company would be a hell of a lot cheaper.

Get a skin? Check out Gellaskin, sure they do laptops...

They look horrible...

I doubt you will find one in the uk, as the cost of doing it in the UK vs the number of people who want the service is going to be far lower than in the US.

I only know of two places that modify macbooks (whilst still giving you a warranty) and they are both US based.

The finish is the point of anodised aluminium, rather than the colour. It looks great in the flesh, though if you have considered the machine, I presume that you will probably have seen, and clearly disagree.

They only things I would suggest in terms of customisation are laser etching (I don't know if this will void your warranty, but it is basically tattooing your MBP) or, if you don't want a skin, a vinyl wrap, which isn't available pre-made as far as I know, so you'd either have to do it yourself painstakingly carefully, or get it professionally done at a specialist vinyl shop of some description (the same places that wrap cars).

I have several friends with them and I'm just not a fan of plain silver unfortunately.. A decent coloured finish would be much nicer, which is why I asked the question. :)

Seems a lot of hassle/expense to have a colourful MBP?! Can't imagine it looks very good tbh. Black on silver, cant beat it.

Black... Let me know where I can get a black (current) MBP and I would jump on it...:p
