UK > EU mens shoe size conversion

Remember climbing shoes you'll want to try on first as some manufacturers often recommend 1/2 size smaller etc.

I've found I'm different sizes in climbing shoes depending if they're lace up or velcro so if you're buying online it may be worth ordering a few sizes knowing you'll send a couple back so you may not need to find a definitive conversion

This is a great guide for different brands and sizing! I still ended up ordering a few different sizes when I got mine though..

yeah you dont want to be buying them online, unless they offer a free returns policy.

with climbing shoes there really isnt any guidelines, ive had shoes fit me that are 1 size too big and 2 sizes too small.

you want them to feel like a second skin, not too tight theyre painful, but remember they will strretch abit if theyre leather in time.. you also want no movement, be in round the heel or sides so find a shoe that fits your foot perfect.. i had to try about 15 on to get one i liked.. i also tried them on an indoor wall that was at the shop

Thanks -

Street, why are some of the shoes showing N/A in cat A and C? Is it because they are not either technical or entry level

e.g.

Scarpa Force
A - NA
B - Drop 2 EURO Sizes
C- Drop 1 EURO Sizes
D - Drop 0.5 EURO Size

I think I fall into cat b - mid grade bouldering. Is 2 euro sizes one 1 uk size? so i should get 7.5, or 8 uk size if I am a 9?

bannana fingers have a guide on each shoe too maybe you could cross compare?

you dont wanmt anything too aggresive, or too soft in rubber compound. depending on your skill level id imagine your footwork will be slopy, and so if you get a super sticky pair of shoes they wont last long due to you scraping them unnecessary whilst climbing. look for a medium one, or a stiffish sole.

id also imagine cat a is n/a because its not a technical shoe theyre a beginner so you dont actually need to paintfully drop too many sizes to have on. technical fits just mean they squash your feet like hell to the point its painful to have on for long periods of time, and they generally have a large downturn and pointy at the end to provide maximum effect when climbing.

i just got a pair of these Red Chili Spirit VCR and theyre doing well so far, but then, they might not be for you.

also a case of velcro v laces. laces you get a better fitment as you can adjust accordingly, but velcro you have the ease to take on and off, and these fit my foot well, without being painful and will provide me with sufficient grip, but ive been told they wear quickly. if you get laces make sure they go down to the toe.
